Awareness Coaching is a life coaching system which focuses on our ability to become the observer of our life. Many of us believe we are already aware of ourselves and our surroundings to varying degrees. On the surface this belief enables us to feel safe in the world. However, as we explore the areas in our life where we experience struggle, we begin to shine a light on those thoughts, feelings and behaviors which are blocking us from our true nature. To truly know and accept ourselves as we are in each moment, is to live in harmony with life’s universal energy. This harmony brings with it a clarity, strength and freedom to choose the life we want for ourselves. Awareness coaching sessions rely on discussion as a vehicle to explore the client's life and goals. However, there is also an exchange of energy which is vital to the process. This energy is at the essence of human connection and is often more profound for clients than the spoken exchange. Although some client's may benefit from an exploration of philosophy, for the most part the coaching process does not focus on external knowledge as much as a development of our own innate wisdom. Some of this work in personal evolution takes time, the time to let go of old patterns which do not serve us and relearn new patterns which support an authentic and meaningful life. Other parts of the work are far more immediate in manifesting shifts in perception. These “ah-ha moments” can have profound effects on our emotions, our actions, and our mental and physical states. How is life coaching different from counseling or therapy? In Awareness Coaching we do not dwell on past trauma or treat mental disorders. We work with people that would like to enhance their life by gaining clarity into their passion and creating a plan to allow that passion to flourish. In cases where specialized psychotherapy is recommended I can offer referrals. With the life coaching model it is possible to manifest big changes in a short amount of time.
